In the previous post, I wrote about the will for change as a result of routines and also about what to do for a change. These steps were to know yourself, to make it instead of thinking it all the time, to believe and to be insistent, to question, to lower the expectation, to accept, to be a realist, and to be patient.
In this post, I will continue from where we stopped and give more concrete examples and steps.
Routines are just a natural response of our body to survive. Although it is most useful at the beginning, it becomes boring in time and turns into your prison. That was the reason why we were enjoying time better when we were kids. Our brain was more active and we were not overloading our head with the environment and extra stress. So that, we weren’t wasting time with unnecessary thoughts. This was helping us to enjoy the day more and to have fun more and also helping us to feel the day longer.
Can you do the same as an adult? Of course.

Health and Sport
Yes, I like cliches therefore, I will give the same advice: exercise and eat healthily.
What is health?
I define it as a properly functioning heart and good eating habits. If you avoid sugar, fast food, and other packed products by %90(yes, I measured it and tested. not %89 or %91… it is %90), it can be said that you have healthy eating.
MOVE!
Although you don’t have much time, try to move as much as you can, visit the gym or any sport even 1 time in a week. Even if you cannot spend a lot of time, try to exercise at least 10 min per day. If you don’t have a chance to visit the gym, do push-ups, pull-ups, plank, sit-ups, and use stairs, bike…It is not important to have a good body with six-packs and big biceps but it is important to be healthy for your heart, reduce stress, and relax your mind. I say heart all the time because it is like an hourglass. The clock of our lifetime.
If it is possible, choose a sport you may like and commit to it.
Money
The Lydians invented Money, the British invented Colonialism and the Americans invented Consumerism.
Money is an important topic because it affects our health, social life and every aspect of life. Therefore, analyze your budget good and know your limits. Don’t be afraid of saving, change your lifestyle according to your budget. Don’t overspend or show off with the money you don’t have. Otherwise, you will be in debt all the time and feel stuck or imprisoned.
It is quite possible that people around you will think different or the change you want will be very radical for the others. However, you don’t need to spend your all days at bars, restaurants or beaches. You also don’t have to have a family, have kids, buy a car, a house like others. You also don’t have to travel or buy clothes. You are just who you are. Don’t forget:
“Worthless people live only to eat and drink; people of worth eat and drink only to live” Socrates

Plan
In the first post of the series, I wrote about knowing yourself.
You need to evaluate your life and compare it with your expectations. After you calibrate your wishes and realities, you need a plan before acting. You should also remember that getting rid of one routine may lead you to another one. It is unavoidable.
I think that plan should be for 3 months maximum. Why 3? Because it is enough time to change and more than 3 months is quite long to keep focus due to the risk of new routine, avoidance and getting bored. Furthermore, a long plan means more expectations and more expectations mean more disappointment.
“That’s one small step for a man — one giant leap for mankind.” N. Armstrong
Armstrong was partially wrong. It was also just a step for mankind.
With business terms, we can say that we need to be ‘agile’. We should be able to check our plans regularly and modify them according to our situation at that moment so that we can keep change and fit it into our changing wishes.

Morning Routine
Put some morning routines for yourself. For example, do not snooze the alarm, instead of drinking water. Because water will be a boost for your body. Your digestion and brain will start to work so your body will be awake.
Do push up after drinking water or take a small walk. So that, your body will be ready for the day, more blood will be pumped into your cells and you will have more energy for the day.
If you wish you can also read the book for 10–15 minutes. We usually say that there is no time for reading but even 10 minutes per day is part of the process.
Decide on routines according to your wishes and make it peaceful with your nature. Do not do them by force but let them serve you for better. (of course yo,u need time to have a habit out of nowhere but still…)
Just put a few routines so that you can change them when it becomes boring.
How is it? to get rid of the routines, you need more routines :)

Perfect Day
Think about the perfect day. If it is necessary, write it down. Write everything that makes you happy and unhappy. Think about it, what you can change in your day.
Writing is important because our brain works like a browser. Our thoughts are waiting on the tabs and if you don’t close the tabs in the background, your brain consumes more power, your processor heats up and makes you stressed and nervous. Just like CPU. More processes make your PC slower. More thoughts make you slower and crash.
